SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it’s all about getting your page and content found in a Google search. More importantly, it helps your content get discovered by the right people. Think about all the effort you put into creating a gorgeous website, or all the research and time that went into writing that blog article. Well, what use is all that work when only you (or maybe a few dedicated friends and family members) know to look for it.

One reason why SEO may seem so dang difficult is all the acronyms floating around out there. You’re running a busy business, who’s got time to cross reference all these terms and acronyms am I right? Thankfully, I’ve got you covered. Here’s what all those acronyms mean:
Keyword: Words that people are Googling
VOL (search volume): The number of times a specific keyword or phrase is searched each month. You’ll want this number to be quite high
CPC (Cost Per Click): This is the amount that a google ad would cost per click based on keyword. The higher the CPC, the more valuable the keyword is.
PD (Paid Difficulty): This is the amount of competition that exists for paid search for a particular keyword or phrase. You’ll want this number to be quite low.
SD (search Difficulty): This is the organic search difficulty and likely what will mean the most to your business. You will want this number to be quite low
Striking the perfect balance will take some effort and research but finding a high search volume, with relatively low search difficulty is possible!
Yes, SEO is important to your business, but I’ve seen far too many entrepreneurs become so obsessed with it that their copy sounds robotic, they’re just trying to please the algorithm by plugging in keywords every which way. It’s important to stay true to your tone of voice and write what you want to write, while keeping SEO in mind.
At the end of the day, all SEO is, is literally you answering a question that someone asks Google. Your goal is to be one of the top 10 answers on Google’s first page. The key to staying true to your vision, and more importantly your audience, is WRITE WHAT YOU WANT TO WRITE! For a moment forget about SEO. Write what you think your audience will like regardless of “ranking” or “PPC”. Then, try to look for keywords that are hyper-specific within your topic in ubersuggest, Ahrefs, Keysearch, or SEMrush. Look up terms people are looking for and from there, connect that into your actual article
