The very first step when designing any new branding and website design project is to first and foremost get to know my client. We want to know their wants, needs goals and visions for their new site. Each new client fills out a questionnaire to help guide us through the design process..
Alicia and Tom already head a logo concept in mind and sent over a rough sketch. We refined their vision and digitized their design to bring it to life. We played around with the texture and tone of the gold foil until we were completely happy with the result.
In describing their design style, Alicia and Tom describe their style as cozy, timeless, minimalist and a feeling of bringing the outside inside. We wanted this to be the foundation for the brand.
As for the colour palette, Alicia and Tom were drawn to greens, golds and browns and that’s exactly what we chose in designing their brand colours.
Included in the Branding Style board are additional branding elements which are used as accents we could add to their website and overall brand.
The main goal of the new Hygge design website was to design a website that is truly a reflection of their style and artistic vision. Once the branding board was complete, we hit the drawing board to come up with a site layout to implement the new branding elements and the website content designed using Squarespace, so Tom and Alicia could manage updates on their own easily.
It was also extremely important to design the site to be as user-friendly as possible. We added clear CTA’s under each portfolio page to easily guide a viewer from one gallery to the next.
